"The StartUp Awards is a collaboration between the founders of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards - an established national programme receiving over 5,000 applications annually - and the Wales Start-Up Awards, the only national and regional awards currently celebrating new businesses in the UK.
The StartUp Awards recognises the achievements of those amazing individuals who have had a great idea, spotted the opportunity and taken the risks to launch a new product or service.
Already established and thriving in Wales, the StartUp Awards is now taking the passion and drive to celebrate new business and extending across the whole of the United Kingdom."
For those of you that don't know, I (Larnia 👋) started Ryde in 2020 and if I'm guilty of one thing - it's probably being terrible at sales, selling the brand and in a round about way, selling myself.
I figured if i put enough effort into creating high quality products, they'd do the talking for me. I haven't got enough front to be a Del Boy and sell sh*te 😂
I set out with a vision to create 'real products for real people.' Which translates to sustainable, inclusive activewear, at fair price points with a kind, genuine community, 'whatever the weather.'
Along the way I've made countless mistakes, argued with spreadsheets, met some incredible people and been SO far out of my comfort zone I'm basically castaway.
There's a long way to go but to be selected as a finalist for the @startupawardsnational - an independent body that recognises the business-y side of businesses is CRAZY, especially for two categories 🤯
I'm so grateful.
Thank you so much to everyone that supports the journey, from a like, share, purchase to review. I see them all and I'm so glad you're here 🙌
Winner announced in May 2023 🤞
